Step 1: Contents
Each vehicle marking and registration pack contains the following:
• Marking fluid and brush
• 8 stencils cut with a unique security code and the
24/7 contact telephone
number of the ISR.
• 2 double sided window warning labels
• Set of 4 Registration and Change of Owner reporting
forms
• Document wallet
• Customer information leaflet
Step 2: Surface Preparation
Ensure that the area to be marked is clean and dry. The marks
should be made on front and rear screens and four passenger
windows. Stencils should be positioned on the outside of each
window as near to the corners as possible because of security
reasons.
• Windscreen: as near to the nearside bottom corner
as possible
• Rear window: as near to the offside bottom corner
as possible
• Front side windows: adjacent to the door handle and
as close to the corner
as possible
• Rear side windows: adjacent to the door hinges and
as close to the corner as possible
Warning stickers should be placed on the inside of the front
side windows adjacent to the stencil mark.
Step 3: Applying the Stencil
Remove the stencil from backing and firmly apply to clean
and dry area, making sure there are no air bubbles. Use the
backing strip to smooth stencil down. Leave for one minute
to ensure the adhesive bonds firmly to the glass.
Step 4: Applying the Fluid
Shake the bottle, and using the brush supplied carefully apply
the fluid, ensuring that all the dots of each character are
covered. Leave for a minute and a half, being careful not
to get fluid on any surrounding area of glass as this will
leave a mark. The Retainagroup marking fluid does not harm
skin, paintwork or trim and is fully tested to Control of
Substances Hazardous to Health Regulations 1988 (COSHH) standards.
Step 5: Removing Excess Fluid
All excess fluid must be removed with the aid of water prior
to removing the stencil – use a damp cloth or tissue.
Step 6: Removing the Stencil
Carefully remove the stencil and within one minute the mark
will become visible.
Step 7: Applying the Warning Label
Apply the double sided window warning label to the inside
of the glass above the mark. The marking process is now completed.

to mark 12 items
• 12 x 3 part stencils.
• Registration form, where applicable
• Instruction sheet
Step 2: Surface Preparation
Ensure that the surface to be marked is clean and dry. The
mark should be made on a visible part of the equipment.
Step 3: Applying the 3 Part Stencil
Remove the backing paper from 3 part stencil. Place it on
the item to be marked, preferably in a visible place. Smooth
the 3 part stencil down firmly using the backing paper to
remove any air bubbles and ensure adhesion.

foil using clear plastic nozzle provided.

to Health Regulations 1988 (COSHH) standards.

The Ultra Violet (UV) label can be used on most painted surfaces,
however we recommend that testing is carried out prior to
its use on unusual surfaces. Please contact a representative
on cust.services@retainagroup.co.uk for further assistance.
The UV label may be used on many types of equipment, some
popular examples are Cycles and IT equipment. The marking
example which follows is based on a Cycle.
Step 1: Contents
Each Cycle Security System pack contains:
• Security coded self-etching ultra violet label
• Silver warning label
• Black coded label
• Set of 4 Registration and Change of Owner reporting
forms
• Instruction sheet
Step 2: Surface Preparation & Application
• Make sure that the area where the label is to be applied
is free of grease or dust
and that it is dry.
Note: the self-etching UV label must be applied
directly onto the painted surface,
not on any decorative label.
• Remove the self-etching UV label (larger one) containing
the security code and
24/7 contact telephone number from the backing
paper. Apply it firmly to a
prominent position on the cycle frame following
the line of the frame.
• Apply the second warning label to the frame close
to the self-etching label.
• Apply the small black coded label to the Cycle
so that it is not readily visible,
ie. under the saddle or crossbar.
Step 3: Completing the Registration Form
Complete the registration form and either:
• Mail it to: Retainagroup Ltd, Unit 2, Highpoint Business
Village, Henwood, Ashford,

To mark
car radios, satellite navigation equipment and other devices
which can be easily removed from a vehicle, we supply a number
of similar technologies with slight variations to suit the
surface of the device. Please ensure that you read the instructions
carefully for the type of device you are marking.
Step 1:
Make sure that the surfaces to be labeled are clean and dry
and that you have decided where to position the stencil/label
with the unique code before removing the backing paper.
For Stencil (clear) markings with UV fluid (clear)
Step 2a:
Remove backing paper from the uniquely coded stencil. Place
on item to be marked and press down firmly using the stencil
backing paper to ensure adhesion.
Step 3a:
Apply the UV etching fluid.
Allow 20 seconds to dry and then remove the stencil from the
item being marked.Repeat for the telephone number stencil.
For Ultradestruct Labels (black) with UV fluid (clear)
or metal marking fluid (green)
Step 2b:
Peel the backing paper from the large black label and place
on the unit. Press the label firmly into place using the label
backing paper. Once applied you cannot remove it without breaking
it so ensure that you select the location carefully.
Step 3b:
Apply the UV etching fluid over the unique code and telephone
number area – etching fluid will be touch dry within
30 seconds.
NB.
If this label has been supplied for use on the (metal) casing
or a car radio or similar, use the green fluid, if the label
is for use on the (plastic) external surface of a SatNav unit
use the clear fluid.
Step 4:
Remove the backing paper from the round black warning label
and apply in a prominent position on the marked item.
Step 5:
Once the marking has been carried out, complete the registration
